The Huge Brush Ink (2019)
Victor Wong

UOB presented the interactive ink installation The Huge Brush Ink by Hong Kong technology-based ink artist Victor Wong. Visitors can create their own ink artwork by moving the huge hanging brush over an LED screen on the floor. This interactive ink installation aimed to raise the public’s interest in ink and to enhance their understanding of different forms of contemporary ink art.

About the Artist

Victor Wong is a pioneering cross-media artist whose practice spans painting, sculpture, tech-art, animation, and film. The core of his work lies in fusing new technology with traditional Chinese philosophy on nature.

A 1989 graduate of the University of Washington in Seattle, Wong founded the visual effects production company vfxNova, which has produced over 800 TV commercials and created special effects for more than 100 films across Hong Kong and Hollywood. Recognised as one of Hong Kong’s Ten Outstanding Young Persons in 2005, he was later named the Martell Artist of the Year by the French maison Martell in 2019. Our Hong Kong Foundation also awarded Wong an InnoStar Award in recognition of his dedication to combining innovation with heritage preservation throughout his artistic journey.
