WHEN IS ART CENTRAL 2020 OPEN?
The fair is open to visitors from 18 – 22 March 2020. An invitation-only VIP Preview will be held on Monday 17 March.
IS ART CENTRAL LOCATED NEAR ART BASEL IN HONG KONG?
Yes. It is a five-minute taxi ride from the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre where Art Basel takes place to the entrance of the Art Central tent. A free shuttle bus runs between Art Central and Art Basel during public show days, making it easy to get from one to the other.
HOW DO I GET TO THE FAIR?
Art Central is located on 9 Lung Wo Road Central, opposite Hong Kong City Hall. The fair is a 5 minute walk from Star Ferry Pier, a 10 minute walk from Admiralty MTR Station or a 10 minute walk from the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) where Art Basel takes place.
WHAT KIND OF ART WILL I FIND AT ART CENTRAL?
Art Central is a contemporary art fair, showcasing the next generation of talent alongside some of the most established contemporary galleries from across the globe. A variety of works, including ink, painting, photography, video and sculpture will be on display, and long-standing collectors and new buyers alike will be sure to discover something of interest at Art Central.
HOW DO I BUY A TICKET TO THE FAIR?
Tickets for Art Central 2020 will be on sale January 2020.
WHAT IS THE ART CENTRAL VENUE LIKE?
Art Central’s bespoke exhibition structure, the largest of which Hong Kong has ever seen, will be an alu-hall (A-frame) tent employing a top grade aluminium frame and rigid plastic (and in some places glass) walls. A raised cassette floor will provide a solid and even base for the exhibition. Alu-hall structures are used the world over to accommodate elite international events, including Frieze in London.
CAN I ACCESS ART CENTRAL WITH MY ART BASEL VIP CARD?
Yes. Simply present your 2020 Art Basel Hong Kong VIP card at the door to enter Art Central free of charge.
IS THERE AN EDUCATION PROGRAMME AT ART CENTRAL?
Yes. Asia Society Hong Kong Center will return as the fair’s Education Partner, putting together a series of talks and panel discussions to engage fair visitors. Tours and children’s activities will also be held at the fair.
WHERE CAN I EAT AND DRINK AT ART CENTRAL?
Art Central offers an alfresco, outdoor dining area, “The Terrace”, that hosts some of Hong Kong’s hottest eateries.
